Hands for hire

Well, through a terribly frustrating series of events I am left with no money to my name currently. The job search continues to no avail and I am looking for a way to make ends meet in the short term. If you have any projects or work that needs done in the next few weeks, I am happy to do it.

Please contact me off list at ladyaraia@gmail.com and we can negotiate compensation details. Also, if you have leads for long term employment, please let me know.

Things I can do include:
Transport/Driving
Errand Running
Personal Assistant Work
Shopping
Phone Calls
Filing
Mailing
Knitting/Crochet
Housework
Organizing and Cleaning
Balancing Budgets
Internet Research
Keeping People Company
Basic Yardwork and/or Gardening
Pet and/or House Sitting
Babysitting

If there is anything else you can think of, send it my way and we can negotiate. :) Feel free to pass this on to others who may need an extra set of hands, eyes or brains. Thank you all for your help and support right now. I appreciate it greatly.

Perfect timing on this, actually!

This is a meme I have (ahem) 'creatively appropriated' from loba , called "Truth.".

If you are brave enough to face the facts, you may use this as well. All of my comments are screened, so no one can know if they are duplicating the responses.

Truth: Participants must tell the truth. In the comment section, please answer two questions: "What do you like about me?" and "What do you NOT like about me?" I understand (some of) my own weaknesses, but I want to know if others perceive the same faults or if they see things differently. This will not affect our friendship and I really don't want a whitewash of the facts.

If you are overly concerned how others perceive you, I would not recommend participating in this meme in your LJ. I am utilizing it as a source of self-education and an attempt to better understand the things I may need to work on. Depending on the comments, I may share the information I learned about myself through this meme.

(Addition: anonymous comments are allowed. It's more of a data-gathering thing than anything.)

This makes me So. Unutterably. Happy.

Vermont legalizes gay marriage with veto override

Vermont legalizes gay marriage with veto override

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Vermont has become the fourth state to legalize gay marriage ... and the first to do so with a legislature's vote.
The Legislature voted Tuesday to override Gov. Jim Douglas' veto of a bill allowing gays and lesbians to marry. The vote was 23-5 to override in the state Senate and 100-49 to override in the House. Under Vermont law, two-thirds of each chamber had to vote for override.
The vote came nine years after Vermont adopted its first-in-the-nation civil unions law.

It's now the fourth state to permit same-sex marriage. Massachusetts, Connecticut and Iowa are the others. Their approval of gay marriage came from the courts.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) _ As expected, the Vermont Senate has overridden the governor's veto of a bill that would allow same-sex marriage.
The House planned to take up the issue later Tuesday, but it's unclear whether there are enough votes to override the veto by Gov. Jim Douglas.
If there are, Vermont would become the fourth state to legalize marriages of gay and lesbian couples.
The others are Massachusetts, Connecticut and Iowa.

I need your opinion

iPhone vs. Google G1

I am looking at getting a new phone and I have heard very good things about both phones from users.

If you have one of these what do you love about it? What do you not like? Or wish was different?

Help me decide.

And of course, I know I have some die hard Apple fans out there. I love Apple products in general but I want to know about this phone in particular. :)
